DR lookups cost $0
Backlinks quality checker for people who price links
Every link has a price tag and a book value, and the two rarely match. LinkMidas reads the book value from our own index of 2,774,625,913 domain links, so you can compare it with the price tag before you pay.
- domain, overview, stats and suggest are free
- refdomains costs 2 credits, about $0.0002

The appraisal sheet: six readings and what each costs

|---|---|---|---|
| Distinct referring sites | refdomains | 2 | The base of the price: how many separate sites vouch for the target |
| Domain Rating, 0-100 | domain | 0 | A fast screen on a log scale; one point near the top costs far more than one near the bottom |
| Anchor wording | anchors | 2 | Whether the text around the link looks earned or ordered |
| Pages that hold the value | toppages | 2 | Which URLs carry the links, so you know what a redirect could orphan |
| Overlap with rivals | intersect | 2 | Which sources already link to two to ten competing domains |
| A whole portfolio at once | bulk_dr | 1 | Up to 2,000 domains per call, enough to rank an entire offer list |
Who it is for
What a backlinks quality checker should tell you before you pay
It should tell you what the link is worth to you, not what the seller says. Price tags in this market are set by whoever lists the page, and the listing usually quotes a third-party score the seller cannot be asked to defend.
We approach it like a valuer walking through a house. First the structure: how many separate sites link to the domain, read from the referring domains call. Then the fittings. Then the comparables.
Be clear about the limit. Our index refreshes roughly once a month, so a link placed last week may not show yet, and for keyword research or daily rank tracking Ahrefs or Semrush are the fuller products. Here you get link data at a low price per call, nothing more.
The arithmetic favours checking first. A refdomains pull is 2 credits, which is $0.0002, while a single paid placement often runs tens of dollars. See the cost per authority point comparison if you want the maths.
How it works
Appraise one offered link in four visits
- 1
Screen the seller's domain
Run the free domain call and read the DR. Anything that fails here costs you nothing and ends the conversation.
- 2
Count distinct referring sites
Pull refdomains for 2 credits and check that the count and the spread of top-level domains look like a real site, not a farm.
- 3
Read the anchors
One anchors call shows whether the wording is varied and branded or repeated commercial phrases, which is the usual fingerprint of bought links.
- 4
Set the price ceiling
Divide the asking price by the DR points you would gain at best, then compare it with your other options using the scoring model.
Checklist
Tick these before any placement is paid for
- The domain exists in the index and its DR is above your floor
- Referring domains number in the dozens at least, across more than one TLD
- Anchor text is not dominated by one money phrase
- The page you would sit on has its own inbound links (toppages)
- No overlap with a competitor you are trying to differ from, unless you want it
- The price per DR point is within your ceiling
- You saved the response so the valuation can be repeated next month
Two calls that cover most appraisals
The first is free. The second prices a whole shortlist for a single credit, whatever the number of rows.

FAQ
What link buyers ask the appraiser
What is a backlinks quality checker and what does it actually measure?
It is a tool that scores the sites linking to a domain. Ours reports referring domain counts, anchor text, linked pages and a 0-100 DR derived from the referring domain count. It cannot see how Google values a link, so treat every number as evidence rather than a verdict.
Is the DR here the same as Ahrefs DR or Moz DA?
No. It is our own metric, computed as round(100 x log(ref_domains+1) / log(20,000,000)). It sits in the same spirit as those scores but gives different numbers, so never mix them in one table without labelling the source of each column.
How much does it cost to check fifty sellers?
With bulk_dr, one credit covers up to 2,000 domains, so fifty sellers cost $0.0001. A refdomains pull for each of the fifty would be 100 credits, or $0.01. The $100 sign-up credit is 1,000,000 credits, which is a lot of valuations.
Why does a link I placed last week not appear?
The index refreshes roughly once a month, so very recent links are missing until the next pass. Record the date you placed the link and look again after the following refresh before concluding it failed.
Can I use this for client reports?
Yes, the responses are JSON and the free actions need no key. Keep the date of each pull in the report, because link data moves monthly, and say plainly that the DR is ours rather than a third-party score.
What happens when my credit runs out?
The API answers with HTTP 402 and nothing is charged beyond the balance. Top-up is in USDT on the TRC-20 network from the account page. There is no subscription and no monthly minimum to cancel.
Do I need a card to start?
No. Sign-in is by Google account only, and the $100 of free credit arrives without a card. After that, you add credit when you choose, not on a schedule.
